Thankyou for the comments, just hadn't seen it on a lab before. Dog showing isn't part of our plan. We got him for the sole purpose of a loving pet for my young children to grow up with. I just can't wait to get him home now. Thanks again.

Subject:white flash

hi, do you mean white flash as in hair and your pup not 100% choc?
if so then no, no need to have any concerns (unless you are looking to show)
it is all to do with the line of breeding i.e. how much choc in mum and dad and right down the line - grandparents etc, there will, i am sure, be a yellow and black in the line somewhere
i had 100% choc bitch at birth and then white hairs came along within weeks
so pls do not worry and love your new pup

Subject:white patch

Hi.
The white patch is perfectly normal. Choc labs used to have a white patch a long time ago but over time, it has been bred out. It still comes out in some dogs-probably more so if a parent has a stronger gene for it. The mum and sister of my bitch also had a white patch and mine has a few stray white hairs on her whole body too. She is 100% a choccie lab with all the correct paperwork too. I know why you're worried though....you automatically think it must be crossed with something else(say a collie). I had exactly the same worries!!!!!
Have fun when you finally get your pup in a few weeks time!!!

Kind regards,

Crystal.
