Ignore the puppy - turn away - dont say anything or touch them . They do it for attention and any attention is good to them . Mine is 7 mnths now and only jumps up when a stranger encourages her (which annoies me !!) . My dad tried tapping her nose everytime thinking he's the dog expert - it made her do it more, and upset me to say the least.
By the way if you have a small child be prepared that when your pup gets bigger ie very soon they'll be big a clumsy and could easily knock over a small child. This was a problem in our household and i really regretted getting a pup when i have 2 little people.
