cruciate surgery is very common and all dogs recover from it really well. I guess you have to take into concideration how healthy your dog is and wether he would recover from anesetic. At the age of 10 is a little worry but im sure he'd make a good recovery. What has your vet said? Most cruciate damage doesnt fix its self.

None of my labs have had the surgery but have had other dogs and theyve done fine, they were however still quite young.
